4x4 UK does not own or operate the Off Road venues and therefore does not provide Insurance or Public Liability Cover at events except for Competetive Off Road Events wholly organised by or on Behalf of 4x4 UK.
It is therefore the responsibility of each person attending or planning to attend an event that their own insurance cover is adequate for their needs and where applicable required by law.
Members are reminded that for excursions held on public highways ie trips on BOATS (Byeways Open to All Traffic) often termed "greenlaning" that the full road traffic and Highways act still applies and all vehicles must be road legal (i.e.taxed and insured etc). We make mention of this specifically as whilst the standard road going insurance policy has to provide legal insurance cover on these highways some insurance companies have exclusion clauses which are applied on unsurfaced highways and the cover offered may not be the same as it is on a surfaced highway.
It is the responsibility of the Club or Third party organising the event to arrange suitable insurance cover. 4x4 UK does not specifically check the suitability of any cover arranged, it is therefore up to each individual planning to take part in the event to check with the Organiser of the event that the cover is suitable.
