English (UK)   Twist-Off  -  Categories: News Articles  -  @ 03:05:52 pm

Well what started out as me and Tony popping over to use Robs twist off ramp to see what our motors would do sort of snowballed into a full blown event with a good number of entries of all makes and types of vehicle,a professional photographer, quite a few spectators and a post event BBQ.

The never ending rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits either, despite having a months rainfall in 24 hours and it was still falling during the event, everyone was in good spirit, having a good old laugh and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

For those who think the whole thing is a bit of a pointless exercise you need to understand that those of us who have spent quite a lot of time and effort modifying our motors to use off road have to have some way of benchmarking them so we can see what effects the modifications have and where we can improve in future. Plus it gives us a chance to have a look at other peoples machines, see how they do and what they have done to achieve it. All good fun especially when you have a quite a wide cross section of motors like we did.
Chris on the ramp
Chris (Tango) showed us all what can ultimately be achieved totally awesome display of what can be done if you really want to, us mere mortals not getting anywhere near as far up the ramp. Having said all that, there were quite a few motors that ended up getting very respectable figures that would put a lot of other motors to shame.

Then after all the fun on the ramp we tucked in to a cracking array of food cooked on the BBQ and spent the rest of the night chatting and generally having a good laugh.

Having spent the last 3 and a bit years rebuilding my 90, it was great to meet up with all the people that I have only spoken to via the forum and as its first real event as its only been back on the road a couple of weeks it was a great start and I look forward to many more to come.

Once again a big thanks to Rob for setting it all up
